while researching on my new event topic, i came across this short copy that screams:

We are in the business of assisting health care organizations to increase patient through-put, improve the quality of patient, physician and internal customer services, and reduce operating costs. If your organization is not interested in doing any or all of these three things, you do not need the services of TLP, Inc.

Kinda like a slap in the face if you say no right? But does the tone of voice leave a good taste in your mouth? =P

Conference Held to Promote Korea’s Medical Tourism

The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) and the Korea Health Industry Development Institute held an international medical tourism conference in southern Seoul on Thursday to discuss ways to promote medical tourism.

Officials at the two state-funded agencies said that Korea’s advanced medical technology coupled with tourism will help attract more tourists from overseas and that Korea is making timely efforts to promote quality medical tourism programs at the time of global economic woes.

Talking to hundreds of healthcare thought leaders spanning across 5continents over our annual international medical travel conferences later, I find myself transiting into the world of Web 2.0.

And to my surprise – somehow, somewhere & someone has managed to win over the traditionally conservative healthcare industry on the new 2.0 phenomenon that has sweep the world over.

Social media on the Internet are empowering, engaging, and educating health care consumers and providers. While consumers use social media — including social networks, personal blogging, wikis, video-sharing, and other formats — for emotional support, they also heavily rely on them to manage health conditions

Although the article only points evidence at the patient-support-group level, I think it is an indication that the industry will ultimately move towards there. Not forgetting that there are more and more young managers brought in from outside the traditional physician-turned-administrators arena, to jive up an industry that has largely been physician-serving rather than client-focused.
